This recipe is as easy as it is tasty. It takes no time to cook and it’ll make the whole family go back for seconds, so keep that in mind when you buying ingredients.
2 tbsp cooking oil
750g-1kg of lean beef mince (depending on how hungry the family is)
20 ml fish sauce (1 tbsp and a bit more)
2 red chilies chopped
4 cloves of garlic, crushed
5cm fresh garlic, grated
80ml light soya sauce
7 drops sesame oil
1/2 tsp of Chinese five-spice
1 packet of spring onions chopped
1/2 egg per person
Cooked flat rice noodles
Fresh radishes, sliced
Red chili, chopped
White sesame seeds, roasted
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp caster sugar
1 tbsp boiling water
1 large wok
Plastic chopping board
1 small glass bowl for the soya sauce mix
1 small roasting tray for the sesame seeds
Serves 4-5 people

Cooking time: 30 minutes
Chop and grate all the ingredients and set aside. Heat the oil in a large wok. Add the mince and cook until crispy (7-10 minutes).
Add the fish sauce, chili, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and five-spice and fry for 3-5 minutes, adjust flavour with soy sauce. Turn the oven onto grill and roast sesame seeds until they start to turn light brown- keep a close eye in them!
Place the eggs on the stove with cold water, when the water starts boiling cook for 8 minutes. Follow instructions on the back of the noodles for cooking times.
Remove mince from the heat and add half of the spring onions.
In a small bowl add the chopped chilies, the soy sauce, caster sugar and boiling water and stir. Take to the table.
To serve, place rice noodles in bowls, top with crispy mince, sliced radishes, the fresh spring onions, sesame seeds and half an egg per person. Spoon over some of the soy sauce mixture as you’re eating.
