This recipe is perfect for people who don’t have the time or patience to serve a fancy dessert after slaving away at the stove. I went to my cousin’s house for Father’s Day and this is what they served. You can be as creative as you like, adding meringues takes it up a notch. They used red berry frozen yogurt, you can choose which ever flavour tickles your fancy.
INGREDIENTS
450 g strawberries, washed and halved
2 L red berry frozen yogurt
2 bars of nougat (choose your favourite one)
Fresh mint leaves
METHOD
Serves 5
Preparation: 20 minutes
20 minutes before serving, roughly chop the nougat into bite sized pieces and mix it into the frozen yogurt. Put the tub back into the freezer for 20 minutes.
While the nougat is freezing, wash and cut the strawberries and prepare the mint leaves.
To serve:
In individual bowls place a large spoon of the frozen yogurt, top with the strawberries and sprinkle over the mint leaves. You can add a ball of Ferrero Rocher for a chocolate kick, depending on how rich your mains were 😉
