Garam Masala & Yogurt Chicken Salad

Garam masala is a blend of ground spices common in North Indian and other South Asian cuisines. A typical Indian version of garam masala contains: black and white peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, black and green cardamom pods, bay leaf, cumin and star anise. You can easily make your own mixture, or you can buy it from Spar.

This recipe is super healthy, is packed with delicious flavours and is really easy to make.

Preparation 30 minutes
Cooking time 30 minutes

In a large freezer bag mix all your marinade ingredients and the chicken, massage the marinade into the chicken and place the bag in the fridge for 30 minutes.

While the chicken is marinating, chop all your salad ingredients and place in a large bowl.

Preheat the gas braai/BBQ or place a griddle pan on high heat.

Cook the chicken on high heat for about 3 minutes on each side, then turn the heat right down and grill until cooked through.

Squeeze a generous amount of lemon juice over the chicken, slice into bite sized pieces and mix with your chopped salad.  Enjoy.
